Why how much you bring matters more than how you play
Why how much you bring matters more than how you play.
There's only one thing you can control in a casino: how much money you bring. You can't control the cards. You can't control the dice. You can't control the spin. But you can control your bankroll.
This is the only real edge you have. Not card counting. Not betting systems. Not "lucky" strategies. Just bankroll management.
Here's the math: if you bring $100 and play blackjack with a 1% house edge, you expect to lose about $1. If you bring $1,000, you expect to lose about $10. If you bring $10,000, you expect to lose about $100.
The more money you bring, the more you expect to lose. This is inevitable. It's not a matter of luck or skill. It's mathematics.
So the only way to reduce your expected loss is to bring less money. Set a budget. Stick to it. Don't bring more than you're willing to lose. And don't dip into your winnings to extend your session.
This isn't exciting advice. It's not going to make you rich. But it's the only advice that will actually protect you.
